The Irise guide to interview success
At Irise Personnel we want to ensure that we are with you every step of the way with your job search. We know just how important it is to nail your interview, so here are our top tips. If you need any last minute support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
- Research. Fully research the company before your interview so that you can understand what the company is about/what they do and their core values.
- When was the company established?
- What is the companies core values and unique selling point?
- Who is interviewing you? Make sure you remember their names/positions
- Dress code and etiquette. Looking smart is incredibly important for a interview. If you look presentable and professional, you will make a great first impression and you will also feel more confident.
- Journey. This is a big one- you want to be as calm as possible on the day so make sure you know where you are going and what time you need to be there. Give yourself enough time and I would always recommend to arrive 15 minutes early so you can go over any last minute notes.
- Conversation. Give detailed answers to the questions and if you don’t understand a question, make sure you ask for clarification rather than answering incorrectly
- The role. Read the job description thoroughly, feel free to take a copy with you to the interview to reference occasionally
- Prepare questions. It is always great to have your questions prepared before the interview, here are some examples:
- What growth opportunities are there?
- What are the companies plans for the future?
Finally remember to breathe and at the end of the interview to handshake, smile and thank them for their time.
Good luck!
